Seating: 1947, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Colin Fenech made the kick off which started today's match. The audience was convinced that Paul Laudi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kenneth Briffa was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Adrian Sciberras Trigona was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 6 minutes into the match. The referee gave Drac Juve a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Chris Fenech, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Les diables de Chamonix's Gilbert Curmi. 0-1. After 10 played minutes Drac Juve got a freekick which was hit by Anton Sapiano. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Liam Cassar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Les diables de Chamonix's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Cassar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kenneth Briffa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paul Laudi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Drac Juve's goal looked a bit too open when Shaun Haber came free, but Kenneth Briffa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Les diables de Chamonix's Liam Cassar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kenneth Briffa. That made the score 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. Paul Laudi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilbert Curmi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colin Fenech, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Kenneth Briffa made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Paul Laudi sent off a good shot on target. Kenneth Briffa was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Paul Laudi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Paul Laudi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Liam Cassar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Kenneth Briffa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenneth Briffa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paul Laudi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 38 minute of play. In the 42nd minute Brian Thake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Curmi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liam Cassar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Briffa having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlo Hyzler during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Les diables de Chamonix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Hyzler to maneuver through the defense. Paul Laudi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Kenneth Briffa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Liam Cassar made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Drac Juve defense, Edward Fiott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenneth Briffa. The Drac Juve fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenneth Briffa should have stopped the shot. Liam Cassar scored 5-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kenneth Briffa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Les diables de Chamonix's Paul Laudi got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Chris Fenech sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Les diables de Chamonix's Gilbert Curmi didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Fenech in the 62nd minute of play forced Les diables de Chamonix's goalkeeper Gilbert Curmi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Les diables de Chamonix's Shaun Haber sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kenneth Briffa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Drac Juve getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Fabio Fiteni hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Laudi in the 65th minute of play forced Drac Juve's goalkeeper Kenneth Briffa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Fiott blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kenneth Briffa having to make a save. Les diables de Chamonix's Paul Laudi got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edward Fiott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Briffa having to interfere. In the 76th minute Shaun Haber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Briffa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Fabio Fiteni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drac Juve's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Les diables de Chamonix the free kick. Kenneth Spagnol kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match Carlo Hyzler shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kenneth Briffa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Edward Fiott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Kenneth Briffa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Les diables de Chamonix were the better team. Les diables de Chamonix's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
