A collision led to Raħal Ġdid getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Fabrizio Testaferrata hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Andre Fava hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liam Ciscaldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Spiteri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-0 became the score in the 29th minute when Giorgio Marmara elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Giorgio Marmara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Schiavone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Raphael Ellul Bonici made a huge save. David Schiavone's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Raphael Ellul Bonici skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ian Trigona to make the kick off. In the 59thth minute of the game David Schiavone who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Raħal Ġdid's Raphael Ellul Bonici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raħal Ġdid's Raphael Ellul Bonici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Schiavone in the 68th minute of play. After 71 minutes, Giorgio Marmara made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Raħal Ġdid's Raphael Ellul Bonici tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Raphael Ellul Bonici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Xiberras in the 75th minute of play. The Dwejra fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Dwejra's Giorgio Marmara looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Raphael Ellul Bonici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Xiberras in the 85th minute of the match. Raphael Ellul Bonici stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giorgio Marmara's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Schiavone in the 88th minute of play forced Raħal Ġdid's goalkeeper Raphael Ellul Bonici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphael Ellul Bonici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Schiavone in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Dwejra booed when Raħal Ġdid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Spiteri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raphael Ellul Bonici didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Schiavone went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Dwejra had played much better football throughout.
