Spectators: 7242 (Terracing: 5100, Seating: 1977, VIP seats: 165) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Giorgio Marmara made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute Ivan Attard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keith Saliba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keith Saliba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Attard, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Keith Saliba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Schiavone in the 10th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Ta Paola got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Herrera. In the 11th minute of the match Jacob Mangion shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keith Saliba showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Keith Saliba came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Dwejra's Ivan Attard. But to his dismay, Ivan Attard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Ta Paola's Oliver Cardona got a free kick in the 18th minute. David Schiavone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 23rd minute, James Conti made a precise shot to the right of Keith Saliba. Ta Paola's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Domenic Drago charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domenic Drago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes Ta Paola got a freekick which was hit by Domenic Drago. In the 28th minute of the match Jacob Mangion shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keith Saliba showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Shaun Briffa hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 29 played minutes, Dwejra's Jacob Mangion shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Keith Saliba came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dwejra reached it. The supporters of Ta Paola booed when Dwejra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. James Conti didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, David Schiavone made a precise shot to the right of Keith Saliba. Ta Paola's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 37 minutes into the match, Ta Paola's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Attard came free, but Keith Saliba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Attard in the 46th minute of play forced Ta Paola's goalkeeper Keith Saliba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Keith Saliba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Schiavone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Dwejra were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Shaun Briffa made the kick off in the second half. Liam Ciscaldi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shaun Briffa went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. James Conti received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Keith Saliba came out and tried to block the shot, but James Conti slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 61st minute. Dwejra made a substitution. Kyle Xiberras replaced James Conti. In the 66th minute Shaun Briffa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liam Ciscaldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Ta Paola's goalkeeper Keith Saliba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kyle Xiberras. In the 69th minute, Shaun Briffa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ta Paola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. With a little luck, Ta Paola's Keith Saliba got control of the ball when Alan Vella tried to sneak it across the goal line.
