Daniel Galea made a great header on Dwejra's corner, it was just that Balzan Youths's Stephan Depasquale managed to reach the ball for a save. David Schiavone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dwejra's David Schiavone was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. David Schiavone who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Stephan Depasquale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Dwejra getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Alan Vella hit a great ball. The supporters of Dwejra booed when Balzan Youths was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ričards Tālums didn't get a good kick on the ball. Etienne Xerri charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 47th minute, Giorgio Marmara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

If Alan Vella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Dwejra fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Dwejra's Giorgio Marmara looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Stephan Depasquale came out of the goal and Giorgio Marmara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giorgio Marmara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Dwejra had played much better football throughout.
