In the 15th minute Zlatko Zahovič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Zammit Cutajar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Severino Bueno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. In the 44thth minute of the game Zlatko Zahovič who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valletta Tornadoes's Michael Zammit Cutajar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Severino Buenos short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Michael Zammit Cutajar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

Valletta Tornadoes's Michael Zammit Cutajar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Bueno in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Valletta Tornadoes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Enzo Perez was slow to take the kick. During this time Eleven Young Elephants's players had a chance to rest. A well done corner resulted in Zlatko Zahovič drilling the ball in to score 10-0 behind Valletta Tornadoes's goalkeeper.
