Spectators: 8100 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Andrea Valletta took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 8 minutes, Peter Paul Preca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banter FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Paul Preca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 11 minutes, Martin Conti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banter FC and the Balzan Rainbows players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Banter FC got a freekick which was hit by Martin Conti. In the 15th minute, Peter Paul Preca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bertrand Engerer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Balzan Rainbows's Jeremy Ciliberti got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Banter FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremy Ciliberti came free, but Frederick Hili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frederick Hili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neville Degiorgio, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Peter Paul Testa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Bertrand Engerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Paul Preca's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bertrand Engerer firmly grabbed it by the left post. A hard shot 30 in the game by Peter Paul Testa from a close distance when the talented Bertrand Engerer managed to make a qualified save. Balzan Rainbows's players were relieved. Peter Paul Preca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Balzan Rainbows's Bertrand Engerer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Balzan Rainbows from getting a goal against them. Clyde De Giovanni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bertrand Engerer having to interfere. Peter Paul Testa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Balzan Rainbows's goalkeeper Bertrand Engerer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peter Paul Preca.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peter Paul Preca made a kick off. Bertrand Engerer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Paul Preca in the 54th minute of play. After 57 minutes of play, Banter FC's Peter Paul Asciak made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bertrand Engerer was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 64 minutes, Peter Paul Preca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banter FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Paul Preca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Paul Preca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bertrand Engerer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peter Paul Preca went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Bertrand Engerer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Paul Testa, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Balzan Rainbows's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Peter Paul Preca was slow to take the kick. During this time Banter FC's players had a chance to rest. Banter FC's Frederick Hili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrea Valletta in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Balzan Rainbows's zone, Peter Paul Asciak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertrand Engerer came out of the goal and Peter Paul Asciak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 played minutes Banter FC got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Agius. After a rather tough play, Balzan Rainbows's Colin Cini got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 96th minute, Colin Cini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
