Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Bertrand Engerer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from John Said went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Bertrand Engerer was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and John Said capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. John Said really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bertrand Engerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bertrand Engerer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bertrand Engerer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, John Said made a precise shot to the right of Bertrand Engerer. Balzan Rainbows's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Tarcisio Cousin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Etienne Blanco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Bertrand Engerer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Filfla United. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by John Said got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Said got free with Bertrand Engerer in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bertrand Engerer. Bertrand Engerer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. If John Said had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Balzan Rainbows's goalkeeper Bertrand Engerer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Annetto Triccas during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Balzan Rainbows was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Annetto Triccas to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute of the match, John Said got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bertrand Engerer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bertrand Engerer didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 46th minute, which inside left pole to 8-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrea Valletta to make the kick off. Bertrand Engerer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Said, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Said blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bertrand Engerer having to make a save. 56 minutes into the game, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Bertrand Engerer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. It was a well-played corner which Tamer Özguner managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After a defensive mix-up in Balzan Rainbows's zone, John Said stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertrand Engerer came out of the goal and John Said tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 66 minutes into the match, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of Balzan Rainbows's Bertrand Engerer. Bertrand Engerer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Filfla United made a substitution. Nathan Spiteri replaced Thomas Sapienza. In the 71st minute, John Said made a precise shot to the right of Bertrand Engerer. Balzan Rainbows's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 11-0. 75 minutes into the match, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu notched a goal, 12-0, to the right of Balzan Rainbows's Bertrand Engerer. Bertrand Engerer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes into the match, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bertrand Engerer. Balzan Rainbows's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 13-0. In the 82nd match minute, Filfla United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivar Ekegren to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Balzan Rainbows's zone, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertrand Engerer came out of the goal and Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bertrand Engerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu in the 91st minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Filfla United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 15-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Filfla United fully deserved thier win.
