When Filfla United's John Said in the 2nd minute got a chance for a shot 2nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mqabba's goalie prevented a goal. 7 minutes into the match, John Said had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matthew Sinerco. Mqabba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Said was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Mqabba's goal looked a bit too open when Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu came free, but Matthew Sinerco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephan Gulia charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stephan Gulia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Stephan Gulia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthew Sinerco made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Said in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Mqabba's goal looked a bit too open when Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu came free, but Matthew Sinerco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu made a precise shot to the right of Matthew Sinerco. Mqabba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Mqabba's Matthew Sinerco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu in the 26th minute of play. After 27 minutes Mqabba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Thomas Sapienza who took care of the corner kick. If Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Said might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matthew Sinerco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John Said ran back to his position shaking his head. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Matthew Sinerco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Filfla United. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthew Sinerco having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, John Said recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Matthew Sinerco. John Said showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. With his leg Matthew Sinerco managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Filfla United's John Said fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matthew Sinerco saved Mqabba from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franco Gaffiero made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Gavin Zammit Tabona was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mqabba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Filfla United the free kick. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Matthew Sinerco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Filfla United. Mqabba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthew Sinerco having to make a save. 72 minutes into the game, Filfla United's Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthew Sinerco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, John Said put it in 10-0 from a short distance just to the right of Matthew Sinerco. Matthew Sinerco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Said fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthew Sinerco having to interfere. John Said recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute, John Said made a precise shot to the right of Matthew Sinerco. Mqabba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 12-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Filfla United had played much better football throughout.
