The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Floriana Athletic. After having played for 17 minutes, Mark Fenech Adami managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norrlands Guld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Fenech Adami was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ethan Musu fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norrlands Guld's protests and gave Ethan Musu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Guld's Ethan Musu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 27 played minutes Floriana Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Ephrem Accaioli. 28 minutes into the game, Norrlands Guld's Mario Bezzina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ian Satariano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ephrem Accaioli to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Fenech Adami in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ian Satariano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the game, Adrian Abela Medici was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Norrlands Guld's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Floriana Athletic the free kick. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Guld's Adrian Abela Medici got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute, Norrlands Guld's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joe Dougall fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joe Dougall kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the game, Mark Fenech Adami cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Ian Satariano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80th minute, Nathan Debono ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ian Satariano was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Mario Bezzina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Joe Dougall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Floriana Athletic's Ian Satariano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Bezzina in the 97th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Norrlands Guld had won after a very even match.
