In the 7th minute, Nikolai Gerada left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buġibba Youngsters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Ponticella Stars getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Hélio Paredes hit a great ball. Ponticella Stars's Asso Kullamaa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolai Gerada in the 13th minute of play. Edgar Sigfridsson let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 15th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. When Buġibba Youngsters's Nikolai Gerada in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Asso Kullamaa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikolai Gerada in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nikolai Gerada was the one to do the kick off. Hélio Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Francesco Ciantar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Sigfridsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on Ponticella Stars's corner Ciro Tieri fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Francesco Ciantar quite easily take care of the ball. After 59 played minutes Buġibba Youngsters got a freekick which was hit by Martin Demanuele. Edgar Sigfridsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francesco Ciantar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Ponticella Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ciro Tieri in the 65th minute. Reuben Manduca charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reuben Manduca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
