The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sliema Dragons FC's Barrie Kerridge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Sliema Dragons FC from getting a goal against them. Barrie Kerridge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Negro, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Valdomiro Velasco hit a great ball. Barrie Kerridge made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Negro in the 18th minute. After 19 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Matteo Borda. Rahim Kornes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Bolas in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th minute Kim Bolas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rahim Kornes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Baran Erozan came free, but Rahim Kornes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Fernando Negro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Barrie Kerridge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Barrie Kerridge came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Seraċini Għawdxin's Fernando Negro. But to his dismay, Fernando Negro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

If Baran Erozan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barrie Kerridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Negro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Seraċini Għawdxin's zone, Baran Erozan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rahim Kornes came out of the goal and Baran Erozan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sliema Dragons FC's Rodolfo Mederi was substituted for Ulises Ixidor. Rahim Kornes made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Dejan Cassar sent off a good shot on target. After 75 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Gábor Illés. 77 minutes into the game, Dejan Cassar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rahim Kornes. Dejan Cassar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gábor Illés got free with Rahim Kornes in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sliema Dragons FC were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Seraċini Għawdxin's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Baran Erozan took the corner. Rahim Kornes came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar. But to his dismay, Dejan Cassar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
