Richard Lentini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Bejrut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filip Bejrut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Lentini having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Floriana Celtics's Rahim Kornes threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kyle Thake, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyle Thake in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rahim Kornes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Floriana Celtics players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Seraċini Għawdxin were winning 0-2.

Fernando Negro came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Richard Lentini could save by the left post. In the 56th minute, Fernando Negro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Richard Lentini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Floriana Celtics made a substitution. Edward Ellis replaced Giorgio Caruana. Richard Lentini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Negro in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Fernando Negro could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Richard Lentini however easily saved by the left post. Song Wei Yun struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Richard Lentini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seraċini Għawdxin. The referee felt a red card was in order, 92 minutes into the game, when Jean Carl Testaferrata Moroni Viani put in a rough tackle. After 93 played minutes Floriana Celtics got a freekick which was hit by Jean Carl Testaferrata Moroni Viani.
