Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Julian Sultana kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Ponticella Stars's Edgar Sigfridsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastian Sapiano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Sebastian Sapiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Borg in the 6th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Ponticella Stars's corner Edgar Sigfridsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sebastian Sapiano quite easily take care of the ball. Adrian Lowell took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastian Sapiano. Sebastian Sapiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 13 minutes of play, Ponticella Stars's Adrian Lowell made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Sapiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Valetta Pirates FC defense, Adrian Lowell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Sapiano. The Valetta Pirates FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Sapiano should have stopped the shot. Sebastian Sapiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Lowell, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The audience was convinced that Julian Sultana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asso Kullamaa was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Ponticella Stars's Asso Kullamaa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Sultana in the 24th minute of play. Asso Kullamaa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shawn Seracino Inglott in the 25th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Valetta Pirates FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Poncio came free, but Sebastian Sapiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Asso Kullamaa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Sultana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 34 minutes, Shawn Seracino Inglott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valetta Pirates FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shawn Seracino Inglott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 35 played minutes Ponticella Stars got a freekick which was hit by Tomi Ita. Shawn Seracino Inglott took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Asso Kullamaa. Ponticella Stars's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Valetta Pirates FC's Sebastian Sapiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Sigfridsson in the 37th minute of play. Vincent Tagliaferro kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Sebastian Sapiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Poncio in the 39th minute of play. Asso Kullamaa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shawn Seracino Inglott, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, Valetta Pirates FC's Edward Chetcuti got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 43 minutes of play, Ponticella Stars's Edgar Sigfridsson made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Sapiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgar Sigfridsson to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Leo Friggieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valetta Pirates FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Giovanni Borg scored to the left of an out of position Sebastian Sapiano, making the score, 0-6. The supporters of Ponticella Stars booed when Valetta Pirates FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Friggieri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Sapiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Sigfridsson in the 56th minute of the match. Vincent Tagliaferro hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. If Vincent Tagliaferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 70 minutes into the match, Valetta Pirates FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Sapiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrian Lowell. Ponticella Stars's Sean McMaster was substituted for Adrian Lowell. Domenic De Battista hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Leo Friggieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Sapiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Sigfridsson in the 76th minute of play. If Giovanni Borg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valetta Pirates FC's Sebastian Sapiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Valetta Pirates FC from getting a goal against them. Ponticella Stars played a much better game than Valetta Pirates FC and deserved their victory. The Valetta Pirates FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
