Márk Kovács started the match with the kick off. Márk Kovács sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Floriana Celtics's Richard Lentini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márk Kovács in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Thake in the 9th minute of play forced Templars FC's goalkeeper André Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Márk Kovács got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Templars FC's André Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyle Thake in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Templars FC's Márk Kovács sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Lentini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute of the match Templars FC got a corner. Floriana Celtics's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ziya Onur Muzaffer ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Benedict Cumberbatch managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Márk Kovács blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Lentini having to make a save. Richard Lentini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Márk Kovács in the 23rd minute. Templars FC's André Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgierd Dawiec in the 24th minute of play. Claudio Bailey's late challenge caught a Templars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudio Bailey helped the player get up and apologised. Claudio Bailey kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. It was a well-played corner which Evan Vancell managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 33 minutes into the match, Floriana Celtics's goal looked a bit too open when Márk Kovács came free, but Richard Lentini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Claudio Bailey was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. Claudio Bailey hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. André Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgio Caruana, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Márk Kovács managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Templars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Márk Kovács was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Márk Kovács sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Richard Lentini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márk Kovács, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Márk Kovács in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Richard Lentini, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Olgierd Dawiec made the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Floriana Celtics:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Templars FC:s goal. 1-0 came in the 53rd minute when Ziya Onur Muzaffer all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Richard Lentini. 56 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goalkeeper André Courtois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olgierd Dawiec. After 60 minutes, Márk Kovács mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Templars FC and the Floriana Celtics players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Márk Kovács hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Márk Kovács got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 65 played minutes Floriana Celtics got a freekick which was hit by Godwin Montesin. When Ziya Onur Muzaffer came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ziya Onur Muzaffer couldn't finish the play. Floriana Celtics's Edward Ellis was substituted for Giorgio Caruana. If Mike Stivala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Jonathan Sammut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Templars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Sammut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mike Stivala, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Sammut in the 78th minute of play forced Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Richard Lentini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Sammut recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Floriana Celtics's Kyle Thake got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Jonathan Sammut might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Lentini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonathan Sammut ran back to his position shaking his head. Godwin Montesin hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the game, Ziya Onur Muzaffer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Richard Lentini was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Templars FC's André Courtois proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Templars FC from getting a goal against them.
