The audience was convinced that Nace Fileski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miša Bošnjaku was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Teofil Taleski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dejan Nedev. That made the score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Vegim Simonovski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Lyon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kartallar the free kick. In the 18th minute, Vegim Simonovski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 19 played minutes FC Lyon got a freekick which was hit by Krale Kitanovski. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Lyon's goalkeeper Miša Bošnjaku, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teofil Taleski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Dejan Nedev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hristo Blaku hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When FC Lyon's Teofil Taleski, in the 35th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Lyon. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teofil Taleski made a kick off. Hristo Blaku's late challenge caught a FC Lyon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hristo Blaku helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kartallar's Hristo Blaku got a free kick in the 51st minute. Sare Paskalov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Dejan Nedev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, FC Lyon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krale Nedelkoski to maneuver through the defense. Miša Bošnjaku was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Blagojče Kuzevski. When Mihajlo Georgiev fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Lyon's protests and gave Mihajlo Georgiev a yellow card for diving instead. Mihajlo Georgiev hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The supporters of Kartallar booed when FC Lyon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Krale Nedelkoski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Krale Kitanovski kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 74 minutes in the game, Hristo Blaku fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Miša Bošnjaku having to interfere. Nace Fileski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes FC Lyon got a freekick which was hit by Sare Paskalov. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Lyon's goalkeeper Miša Bošnjaku, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Nace Fileski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kartallar's supporters rose to their feet, but Nace Fileski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miša Bošnjaku breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 86 minutes, Bekim Ordanovski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kartallar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bekim Ordanovski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Lyon's Miša Bošnjaku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nace Fileski in the 88th minute of play. Dejan Nedev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofil Taleski, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Lyon had won after a very even match.
