Sašo Ivič kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Simon Spasenov scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramadan Nedev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Sašo Ivič came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Shkendija fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of Dabnica Rabotnički booed when Shkendija was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rangel Novakov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deljan Dalov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zvonko Blagojev having to make a save. Slavoljub Gruevski hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Sašo Ivič who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Zvonko Blagojev when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rangel Novakov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sašo Ivič's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zvonko Blagojev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Zvonko Blagojev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sašo Ivič, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Shkendija players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
