An unexpectedly hard shot by Karlheinz Bäumler in the 9th minute of play forced Walford's goalkeeper Dion Wilhelm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Pol Müller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jérôme Pichler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pol Müller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jérôme Pichler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jean Wipplinger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pol Müller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the game, Simon de la Fontaine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Northfield United Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Walford the free kick. A collision led to Northfield United Club getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Simon de la Fontaine hit a great ball. Jean Krier's late challenge caught a Northfield United Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jean Krier helped the player get up and apologised. Jean Krier hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. During the 46th minute of the match Simon de la Fontaine completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Simon de la Fontaine a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pol Müller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Northfield United Club's zone, Pol Müller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jérôme Pichler came out of the goal and Pol Müller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Axel Rosenblatt fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Walford's protests and gave Axel Rosenblatt a yellow card for diving instead. When Axel Rosenblatt came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Walford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Rosenblatt couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Walford getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Pierre-Joseph Lavigne hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Joel von Fürstenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Jean Wipplinger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Walford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Pol Müller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jean Krier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Walford players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
