Elmar Auspitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Hartmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Freddy Schröder charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddy Schröder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Luxembourg Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Schröder to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Luxembourg Youth Academy's Félix von Axelson got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tim Böckler in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elmar Auspitz saved Luxembourg Youth Academy from getting behind. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Luxembourg Youth Academy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ernie Auerswald was slow to take the kick. During this time Ilkeston's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ernie Auerswald got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Elmar Auspitz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Elmar Auspitz came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Ilkeston's Harold Majerus. But to his dismay, Harold Majerus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Danny Pichler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Luxembourg Youth Academy booed when Ilkeston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernie Auerswald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Milo Gerhardt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pol Aumeier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Ilkeston's Tim Böckler slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elmar Auspitz. That made the score 2-0 after 30 minutes of play. Harold Majerus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elmar Auspitz having to make a save. Harold Majerus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th match minute, Luxembourg Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Brötzmann to maneuver through the defense. After 39 played minutes Ilkeston got a freekick which was hit by Tim Böckler. A collision led to Luxembourg Youth Academy getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Hermann Beicht hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Ilkeston's Elmar Auspitz threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tim Böckler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Harold Majerus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Luxembourg Youth Academy's zone, Harold Majerus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elmar Auspitz came out of the goal and Harold Majerus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pol Aumeier made a kick off. Elmar Auspitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Böckler, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The supporters of Ilkeston booed when Luxembourg Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Cantoreggi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute Harold Majerus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elmar Auspitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Luxembourg Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Majerus came free, but Elmar Auspitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harold Majerus struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Elmar Auspitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ilkeston. Tim Böckler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Auspitz having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Luxembourg Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Majerus came free, but Elmar Auspitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harold Majerus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elmar Auspitz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip Hartmann in the 75th minute of play forced Luxembourg Youth Academy's goalkeeper Elmar Auspitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Félix von Axelson during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 78th minute of the match Philip Hartmann shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elmar Auspitz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tim Böckler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Auspitz having to interfere. Hermann Beicht hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Milo Gerhardt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danny Pichler in the 92nd minute. Ralph Bärwald charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ralph Bärwald the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ilkeston's Bodo Olabanjo got a free kick in the 96th minute. Danny Pichler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Milo Gerhardt made a huge save.
