Seating: 1950, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Perry Townson kicked off to start the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Abbey Wood's Perry Townson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joel Braun. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. After having played for 14 minutes, Max Weiss managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padiham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Weiss was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lloyd Searle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Joel Braun made a huge save. Joel Braun made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Lloyd Searle sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Weiss in the 25th minute of play forced Abbey Wood's goalkeeper Joe Dingle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 played minutes Padiham FC got a freekick which was hit by Jan Kayser. 34 minutes into the match, Abbey Wood's goal looked a bit too open when Max Weiss came free, but Joe Dingle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joe Dingle came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Padiham FC's Leo Brodmann. But to his dismay, Leo Brodmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, Abbey Wood's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Brodmann came free, but Joe Dingle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Max Weiss managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padiham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Weiss was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joe Dingle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christof Probst in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Eddie Arendt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leo Brodmann to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Ged Hutchinson made a precise shot to the right of Joel Braun. Padiham FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Christof Probst came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Padiham FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christof Probst couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lars Geschke during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joel Braun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zack Eslworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When Zack Eslworth fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abbey Wood's protests and gave Zack Eslworth a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Padiham FC booed when Abbey Wood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zack Eslworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Padiham FC's Eddie Arendt got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Max Weiss came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Padiham FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Max Weiss couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Abbey Wood's zone, Jan Kayser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joe Dingle came out of the goal and Jan Kayser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leo Brodmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joe Dingle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leo Brodmann ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute, Eddie Arendt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leo Brodmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Joe Dingle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Abbey Wood got a freekick which was hit by Ty Holloway. After a defensive mix-up in Abbey Wood's zone, Leo Brodmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joe Dingle came out of the goal and Leo Brodmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eddie Arendt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Dingle having to interfere. Joe Dingle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Brodmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Leo Brodmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Joe Dingle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Padiham FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Abbey Wood had won, even though Padiham FC had held more of the ball.
