In the 5th minute, Christof Wagner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Bamberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Feldmann in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Lars Axmann fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 13th minute, Lars Bruckmann reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joseph Bamberger. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Bruckmann in the 15th minute of play forced Horsham United's goalkeeper Joseph Bamberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Lars Bruckmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Bamberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Feldmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Bamberger having to interfere. Christof Wagner hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Lars Bruckmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Joseph Bamberger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Lars Bruckmann got a free kick in the 29th minute. Félix Göbl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julien Drachmann in the 30th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lars Axmann in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joseph Bamberger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Newcastle United were furious when Jonas Zaugg was red carded, 35 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 37 played minutes, Horsham United's Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Félix Göbl came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Horsham United reached it. In the last second Joseph Bamberger throw himself and got hold of the ball when Lars Bruckmann in the 40thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Horsham United's Joseph Bamberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Bruckmann in the 45th minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julien Drachmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Lars Bruckmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Bamberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Bamberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Bruckmann in the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Horsham United's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Schmit came free, but Joseph Bamberger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bodo Hantzsch to maneuver through the defense. Florian Schmit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joseph Bamberger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 81 minutes into the match, Bodo Hantzsch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joseph Bamberger. Horsham United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bodo Hantzsch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Joseph Bamberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Schmit in the 85th minute of play. Joseph Bamberger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lars Bruckmann's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Julien Drachmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Félix Göbl having to interfere. Louis Hundhammer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Félix Göbl made a huge save. Lars Bruckmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Newcastle United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
