Ronnie Holdsworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Fabricius in the 15th minute of the match. Yannick Fürstenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Holdsworth having to interfere. After some careless play in the Englefield Green defense, Darius Kemmer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronnie Holdsworth. The Englefield Green fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronnie Holdsworth should have stopped the shot. Jan Fabricius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christof Heisenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Holdsworth having to interfere. Yannick Fürstenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Jan Fabricius cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ronnie Holdsworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Felix Woodman fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Englefield Green's protests and gave Felix Woodman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd minute, Felix Woodman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Englefield Green getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Sid Flintoff hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Fabricius in the 37th minute of play forced Englefield Green's goalkeeper Ronnie Holdsworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-5 became the score in the 38th minute when Jan Fabricius elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jan Fabricius might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronnie Holdsworth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Fabricius ran back to his position shaking his head. Darius Kemmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Holdsworth having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Hull City's Jan Fabricius sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronnie Holdsworth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Hull City fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Hull City's Yannick Fürstenberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sid Flintoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Hull City got a freekick which was hit by Yannick Fürstenberg. Ronnie Holdsworth was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jan Fabricius showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 57 minute of play. Karlheinz König struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Ronnie Holdsworth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hull City. Ronnie Holdsworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Fabricius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mick Ainsworth's late challenge caught a Hull City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hull City's Christof Heisenberg managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Malcolm England in the 69 minute of the game. 71 minutes into the match, Englefield Green's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Fabricius came free, but Ronnie Holdsworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Yannick Fürstenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Christof Heisenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hull City's supporters rose to their feet, but Christof Heisenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Holdsworth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jan Fabricius came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Hull City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Fabricius couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Darius Kemmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hull City's supporters rose to their feet, but Darius Kemmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Holdsworth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Hull City left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Englefield Green.
