Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lars Bruckmann took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Karl Lentz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Félix Göbl. Karl Lentz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Florian Bachmayer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Bruckmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jupp Otto in the 14th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Félix Göbl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Zaugg got a throw-in 16 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Daniel Feldmann. Karl Lentz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Félix Göbl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. If Daniel Feldmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Linus Wolff during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Sefton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Wolff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sefton FC's attentive Donny Ronvaux managed to snatch the ball when Bodo Hantzsch made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Lentz in the 41st minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Félix Göbl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sefton FC's Florian Bachmayer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Bruckmann in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl Lentz was the one to do the kick off. When Jonas Zaugg fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newcastle United's protests and gave Jonas Zaugg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, one of Newcastle United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Newcastle United. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Sefton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Lambert didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Sefton FC's goalkeeper Florian Bachmayer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Feldmann. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Traube during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Oscar Traube hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Félix Göbl didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karl Lentz went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After 69 minutes of play, Newcastle United's Lars Bruckmann made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florian Bachmayer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Newcastle United's Jonas Zaugg got his second yellow card of the match in the 71st minute. The referee ordered Jonas Zaugg off the ground. The supporters of Sefton FC booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Zaugg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Max Buckholz hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Newcastle United's Daniel Feldmann got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Max Buckholz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Lars Axmann got a free kick in the 80th minute. Gaston von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Lambert kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sefton FC's zone, Daniel Feldmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florian Bachmayer came out of the goal and Daniel Feldmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jupp Otto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Félix Göbl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Feldmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Newcastle United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
