Oswald Majerus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan St. Pierre having to interfere. Jan St. Pierre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswald Majerus, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Denis Dieschbourg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. S.L.B.Diekirch's Jacques Kühnhackl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Ludwick in the 21st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oswald Majerus in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan St. Pierre saved SIX LUX from getting behind. Jacques Kühnhackl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Descoteaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Jonathan Kirsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jan St. Pierre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, SIX LUX's goal looked a bit too open when Oswald Majerus came free, but Jan St. Pierre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. S.L.B.Diekirch's Jacques Kühnhackl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Ludwick in the 34th minute of play. Jacques Kühnhackl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Ludwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Denis Dieschbourg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Jacques Kühnhackl made a huge save. After 57 minutes, Kurt Feldmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SIX LUX and the S.L.B.Diekirch players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SIX LUX getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Kurt Feldmann hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of S.L.B.Diekirch:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SIX LUX:s goal. In the 76th minute, Jonathan Kirsch ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan St. Pierre was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Jacques Kühnhackl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerry Ludwick in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, S.L.B.Diekirch's Jacques Kühnhackl got control of the ball when Denis Dieschbourg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Denis Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oswald Majerus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan St. Pierre having to interfere. When Francesco Graas fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SIX LUX's protests and gave Francesco Graas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of S.L.B.Diekirch booed when SIX LUX was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Graas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 98 minutes into the match, S.L.B.Diekirch's Jonathan Kirsch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan St. Pierre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The S.L.B.Diekirch manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SIX LUX to win.
