The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Kirsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Beermann having to interfere. After 10 played minutes North Petherton City got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Hattendorf. If Jonathan Kirsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacques Kühnhackl was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Darius Nowak showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. Adrian Beermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswald Majerus, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Thom Grethen had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 27 minutes into the game, Jan Blumenthal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Petherton City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.L.B.Diekirch the free kick. In the 54th minute, Denis Hoffmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adrian Beermann was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. When Eddy Kieffer fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Petherton City's protests and gave Eddy Kieffer a yellow card for diving instead.
