No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After having played for 51 minutes, Bob Hummel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flackwell Heath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Hummel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute, Bob Hummel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dietrich Winkler. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 59th minute FC Fano were awarded a corner. Karl Beauchêne went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led FC Fano's Karl Beauchêne to fire away a dangerous shot which Jasper Ahle despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. FC Fano's Dietrich Winkler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save FC Fano from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Flackwell Heath's zone, Wally Auffarth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jasper Ahle came out of the goal and Wally Auffarth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Wercollier took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jasper Ahle. Jasper Ahle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Evren Cambaz took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jasper Ahle. After some careless play in the Flackwell Heath defense, Jonathan Wercollier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jasper Ahle. The Flackwell Heath fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jasper Ahle should have stopped the shot. Flackwell Heath's Jasper Ahle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evren Cambaz in the 81st minute of play. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Wally Fiedler sped through FC Fano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dietrich Winkler.
