Karl Happe started the match with the kick off. Karl Happe in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Karl Trausch, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 7 minutes, Victor Schleck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TSV 1860 München's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Schleck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Kidsgrove's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Klepper came free, but Karl Trausch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stan Hößler kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mattias Klepper struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Karl Trausch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TSV 1860 München. Karl Happe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl Happe had several of the Kidsgrove's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 35 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Karl Trausch as he didn't even see the shot coming. Karl Happe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl Happes short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Karl Trausch to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Kidsgrove's Karl Trausch got control of the ball when Karl Happe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karl Trausch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Happe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcus Jentzsch was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Karl Happe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl Trausch was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. The Kidsgrove fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl Trausch should have stopped the shot. 82 minutes into the match, Kidsgrove's goal looked a bit too open when Karl Happe came free, but Karl Trausch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl Trausch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl Happe in the 86th minute of the match. Karl Happe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Trausch having to interfere. In the 89th minute Karl Happe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Trausch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Happe in the 92nd minute of play forced Kidsgrove's goalkeeper Karl Trausch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kidsgrove's Karl Trausch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mattias Klepper in the 96th minute of play. TSV 1860 München's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
