Hasler Milutinov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualtier Klein having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Soltermann in the 44th minute of play forced Lavadina IG Gipfelstürmer's goalkeeper Conrad Sozzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mathias Bonato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute, Flavio Buol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jannik Demirci was the one to do the kick off. In the 58th match minute, Lavadina IG Gipfelstürmer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dominik Fürst to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 65 minutes, Mathias Bonato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimsby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Bonato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Hasler Milutinov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grimsby's Gualtier Klein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jannik Demirci in the 76th minute of play. Gualtier Klein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jannik Demirci, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Jeff Lipp fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grimsby's protests and gave Jeff Lipp a yellow card for diving instead. Gualtier Klein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hasler Milutinov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Grimsby's zone, Hasler Milutinov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualtier Klein came out of the goal and Hasler Milutinov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Roberto La Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grimsby's protests and gave Roberto La Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th match minute, Grimsby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto La Rosa to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lavadina IG Gipfelstürmer had won after a very even match.
