In the 37th match minute, Elsdon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvatore Heller to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Elsdon's goal looked a bit too open when Anto Hilti came free, but Horace Mischler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The supporters of Elsdon booed when Southampton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position.
