The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabian Alfred hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Eusebius in the 14th minute of play forced Southampton AFC's goalkeeper Lukas Gruber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Reichlin in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lukas Gruber prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute, Daniel Reichlin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lukas Gruber was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 21st match minute, Liechtenstein City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dario Eusebius to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute of the match Liechtenstein City got a corner. Southampton AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Seyhan Brunner ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Raphael Alabor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lukas Gruber quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Southampton AFC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Remy Nutt hit a great ball. When Seyhan Brunner came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Liechtenstein City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seyhan Brunner couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Southampton AFC defense, Daniel Reichlin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lukas Gruber. The Southampton AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lukas Gruber should have stopped the shot. If Raphael Alabor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lukas Gruber didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Reichlin went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After the first half Liechtenstein City were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Daniel Reichlin succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Southampton AFC's zone, Gökhan Erne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lukas Gruber came out of the goal and Gökhan Erne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rico Figueroa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Hamazic having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Reichlin in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lukas Gruber prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Reichlin in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lukas Gruber, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Paul Dinkelmann kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Liechtenstein City's Daniel Reichlin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Lukas Gruber was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Dario Eusebius capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dario Eusebius really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Rico Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Reichlin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lukas Gruber. That made the score 0-7 in the 97 minute of play. Liechtenstein City's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
