Seating: 2114, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adam Hamazic started the match with the kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game Paul Dinkelmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mauren's Nigg Ammann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Remy Nutt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Nigg Ammann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 9 minutes, Paul Dinkelmann made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mauren's Nigg Ammann tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute, Robin Blumenthal made a precise shot to the right of Lukas Gruber. Southampton AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 15 minutes into the match, Damian Sele notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Mauren's Nigg Ammann. Nigg Ammann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Damian Sele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Mauren's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Dinkelmann came free, but Nigg Ammann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robin Blumenthal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Lukas Gruber made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Dinkelmann in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nigg Ammann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pascal Martini hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Philip Rehak from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Lukas Gruber's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Paul Dinkelmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nigg Ammann having to make a save. If Paul Dinkelmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Elias Hoop managed to get in a good position for a shot. Southampton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Hoop was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nigg Ammann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd match minute, Southampton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Burali to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Paul Dinkelmann notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Mauren's Nigg Ammann. Nigg Ammann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paul Dinkelmann was the one to do the kick off. Mauren's Nigg Ammann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Mauren from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Paul Dinkelmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nigg Ammann was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Paul Dinkelmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Southampton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paul Dinkelmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nigg Ammann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Hoop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigg Ammann having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Mauren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Meier to maneuver through the defense. Mauren's Nigg Ammann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Dinkelmann in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mauren's zone, Paul Dinkelmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigg Ammann came out of the goal and Paul Dinkelmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Southampton AFC's Damian Sele got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Southampton AFC fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Southampton AFC's Paul Dinkelmann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Remy Nutt hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Adam Hamazic struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Lukas Gruber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mauren. 78 minutes into the match, Southampton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Hamazic came free, but Lukas Gruber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Southampton AFC's Paul Dinkelmann in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mauren's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Nigg Ammann managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Southampton AFC's Paul Dinkelmann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Damian Sele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigg Ammann having to interfere. Robin Blumenthal's late challenge caught a Southampton AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robin Blumenthal helped the player get up and apologised. When the match was over Southampton AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mauren throughout the match.
