Kings Lynn's Mathias Kathan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Riccardo Fleck in the 21st minute of play. When Jacob Josef Fromm came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Kings Lynn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Josef Fromm couldn't finish the play. Adam Alija's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Matt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Burtonwood's Felix Matt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Alija in the 42nd minute of play. Felix Matt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Josef Fromm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adam Alija received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Felix Matt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Jacob Josef Fromm's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felix Matt was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Adam Alija recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michael Weikl hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Dominique Röschli kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Micha Hilti sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Burtonwood's Felix Matt didn't even have to move. If Adam Alija had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adam Alija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Adam Alija shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Matt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Alija fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Matt having to interfere. After having played for 93 minutes, Adam Alija managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kings Lynn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adam Alija was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kings Lynn's Andreas Schäpper got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacob Josef Fromms short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Felix Matt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kings Lynn's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Burtonwood had won, even though Kings Lynn had held more of the ball.
