The audience thought a goal was coming when Andy Bjorg got free with Marko Hoch in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Fabian Dietsche came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the FC Triesen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Dietsche couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Karlheinz Capobianco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felix Ott was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FC Triesen players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
