The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 minutes, Adriano Pietrini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Civezza AFC and the Barletta players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Barletta booed when Civezza AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Pietrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Napoleoni in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anselmo Pugliese, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Christian De Tommasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Franco Napoleoni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florian Caneva kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Anthony Masi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Marcucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 played minutes Civezza AFC got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Masi. Ettore Romino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Pugliese having to interfere. Franco Napoleoni in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anselmo Pugliese, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 26 played minutes Civezza AFC got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Del Greco. The crowd rose to their feet as Franco Napoleoni kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anselmo Pugliese. That made the score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. Christian De Tommasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Barletta's Franco Napoleoni in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Civezza AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Barletta's Christian De Tommasi got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Franco Napoleoni scored 2-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anselmo Pugliese, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ettore Romino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Pugliese having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Franco Napoleoni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Barletta's Ettore Romino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anselmo Pugliese narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Christian De Tommasi struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Anselmo Pugliese didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barletta. Anselmo De Sanctis hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Ettore Romino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franco Napoleoni took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anselmo Pugliese. Anselmo Pugliese dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Barletta made a substitution. Frank Mazzone replaced Franco Napoleoni. Anselmo Pugliese made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Mazzone in the 76th minute of play. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Frank Mazzone sped through Civezza AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anselmo Pugliese. Florian Caneva's late challenge caught a Civezza AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florian Caneva helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Barletta getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ettore Romino hit a great ball. After 89 minutes, Frank Mazzone made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Civezza AFC's Anselmo Pugliese tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Frank Mazzone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ettore Romino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Anselmo Pugliese tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frank Mazzone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Barletta players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
