An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Casiraghi in the 24th minute of play forced San Silvestro's goalkeeper Demetrio Corvasce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Comunardo Balestra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demetrio Corvasce having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, San Biggio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Di Berardino came free, but Arrigo Gava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. San Silvestro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Casiraghi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
