Mestre's Augusto Terenzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fortunato Mameli in the 3rd minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Mestre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Iannucci to maneuver through the defense. Beppe Domina's late challenge caught a Cangia AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beppe Domina helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mestre getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Beppe Domina hit a great ball. Fortunato Mameli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Terenzi having to interfere. When Fulvio Reggianini fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mestre's protests and gave Fulvio Reggianini a yellow card for diving instead. Fulvio Reggianini hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Augusto Spada was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Alfonso Patrizi made the kick off in the second half. Fortunato Mameli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Terenzi having to interfere. If Franco Finocchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beppe Domina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Israel Porlier having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Fortunato Mameli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Israel Porlier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Pacella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
