The Cesena89 fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Cesena89's Armin Novella looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Anselmo Briano struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Dennis Fallito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cesena89. If Anselmo Briano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armin Caligaris hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Dennis Fallito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armin Novella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Fallito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armin Novella in the 26th minute of play. Anselmo Briano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Fallito having to interfere. If Flavio Cusumano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dennis Palma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Burgnich in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Novella in the 34th minute of play forced Quarto Inferiore's goalkeeper Dennis Fallito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Cugini hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Dennis Palma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Burgnich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Armin Novella made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Anselmo Briano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cesena89's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Briano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Flavio Cusumano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Flavio Cusumano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Palma having to interfere. Arturo Burgnich might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennis Palma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arturo Burgnich ran back to his position shaking his head. If Armin Novella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes Cesena89 got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Briano. Flavio Cusumano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The audience was convinced that Anselmo Briano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dennis Fallito was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Cesena89's Dennis Palma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Cesena89 from getting a goal against them. Armin Novella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesena89's Ernesto Campese suffered a fractured collar bone after 89 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Ennio Senatore kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Franco Di Maria charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franco Di Maria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st match minute, Quarto Inferiore was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Di Maria to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Ennio Senatore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Fallito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Briano in the 94th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Novella in the 95th minute of play forced Quarto Inferiore's goalkeeper Dennis Fallito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cesena89 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Quarto Inferiore had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
