After some careless play in the Sassi FC defense, Dario Carciofo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Carozza. The Sassi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Carozza should have stopped the shot. Arturo Carozza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Di Berardino, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If Fabrizio Mannucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Junior DC's Augusto Castellani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Junior DC from getting a goal against them. Frank Di Berardino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dario Carciofo struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Arturo Carozza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Junior DC. After a defensive mix-up in Junior DC's zone, Beppe Sciarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Castellani came out of the goal and Beppe Sciarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute Dario Carciofo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Carozza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Dario Carciofo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Junior DC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dario Carciofo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Carozza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sassi FC's Arturo Carozza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Di Berardino in the 48th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Frank Di Berardino was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Junior DC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 54 played minutes Junior DC got a freekick which was hit by Frank Di Berardino. In the 58th minute, Augusto Zola sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Junior DC's Augusto Castellani didn't even have to move. If Frank Di Berardino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dario Carciofo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Carozza having to interfere. The supporters of Junior DC booed when Sassi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Di Matteo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Dario Carciofo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arturo Carozza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Augusto Castellani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrizio Mannucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Augusto Castellani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrizio Mannucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sassi FC's zone, Frank Di Berardino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Carozza came out of the goal and Frank Di Berardino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dario Di Matteo hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Arturo Carozza was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dennis Benvenuto. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Junior DC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
