After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Carlo Zaccardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Giovanni AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlo Zaccardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Spinosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee ignored Grignano Polesine's protests and gave Alessio Di Meo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of San Giovanni AFC booed when Grignano Polesine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessio Di Meo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achille Campoli in the 31st minute of play forced Grignano Polesine's goalkeeper Donato Spinosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donato Spinosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Achille Campoli went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Amerigo Valente was completely defenseless when Davide Paganelli shot a long shot which deflected off the right pole and into the goal in the game's 36th minute, 1-2.
