An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Cassone in the 10th minute of play forced Gorla Maggiore FC's goalkeeper Nils-Åke Caspersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Angelo Bellone fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.C. Duro's protests and gave Angelo Bellone a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes A.C. Duro got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Bellone. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armin Di Palma in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrea Reggianini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nils-Åke Caspersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davide Sasso in the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Gorla Maggiore FC defense, Davide Sasso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nils-Åke Caspersson. The Gorla Maggiore FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nils-Åke Caspersson should have stopped the shot. In the 28th minute, Armin Burgnich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arturo Iannuccis short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Andrea Reggianini to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Andrea Reggianini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armin Di Palma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Armin Di Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Reggianini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.C. Duro's Andrea Reggianini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armin Di Palma in the 45th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armin Di Palma to make the kick off. Fabiano Gaudino kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ciccio Marinelli tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Andrea Reggianini. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 54th minute. In the 60th minute Armin Di Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Reggianini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damiano Di Toma's late challenge caught a A.C. Duro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damiano Di Toma helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gorla Maggiore FC! Angelo Bellone shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 72nd minute Armin Di Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Reggianini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of A.C. Duro booed when Gorla Maggiore FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Nicholas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 78 played minutes Gorla Maggiore FC got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Iannucci. Ferruccio Cassone might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nils-Åke Caspersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferruccio Cassone ran back to his position shaking his head. After 96 played minutes Gorla Maggiore FC got a freekick which was hit by Armin Burgnich. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Ferruccio Cassone managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.C. Duro's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferruccio Cassone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils-Åke Caspersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gorla Maggiore FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while A.C. Duro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
