In the 31st minute Flavio Verna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filippo Finocchio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Castelnuovo's Andrea Giardini got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Filippo Finocchio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Castelnuovo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fedele Capaldo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Castelnuovo's Filippo Finocchio got control of the ball when Flavio Verna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78thth minute of the game Eugenio Navarra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castelnuovo's Filippo Finocchio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Castelnuovo's Filippo Finocchio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Castelnuovo from getting a goal against them. After 95 minutes, Alvise Alba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castelnuovo and the Tobbiana AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Tobbiana AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tobbiana AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
