After 2 minutes, Enzo Arioli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the R. C. F. C. and the Merion02 FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th match minute, R. C. F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enzo Arioli to maneuver through the defense. When Achille Teti came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Merion02 FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Achille Teti couldn't finish the play. 17 minutes into the match, Merion02 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Attilio Michelini came free, but Fabio Andreozzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enzo Arioli scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabio Andreozzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 22 minutes, Achille Teti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merion02 FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achille Teti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enzo Arioli hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Merion02 FC's Fabio Andreozzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Ruggeri in the 26th minute of play. Achille Teti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Castelli having to interfere. Attilio Michelini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Fabio Andreozzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Achille Teti let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 38th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. In the 46th minute, Aldo Galliani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, R. C. F. C.'s Attilio Michelini broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Attilio Michelini made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Merion02 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Ruggeri came free, but Fabio Andreozzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, Enrico Bosco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabio Andreozzi. Merion02 FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrico Bosco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. With a little luck, Merion02 FC's Fabio Andreozzi got control of the ball when Enzo Arioli tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 59th minute, Alexander Ruggeri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Enzo Arioli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Andreozzi was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. C.'s Alberto Castelli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute, Emiliano Carulli had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 72 played minutes R. C. F. Merion02 FC's Fabio Andreozzi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Merion02 FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of R. C. F. C. booed when Merion02 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Galeone didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, R. C. F. C.'s Amedeo Barbanti ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabio Andreozzi. Fabio Andreozzi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The R. C. F. C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing R. C. F. C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
