In the 93rd minute Aurelio Ranalli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attilio Persichetti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biagio Guidoni was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Fortunato Ascoli capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fortunato Ascoli really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. The Rescalda AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Maruggio were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
