A very good chance for a goal. Borsano's Fabiano Mandelli got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arrigo Di Maria during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 1-0 became the score in the 20th minute when Augusto Salerno elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Borsano's Alfonso Baresi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonello Mazzola in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Eraldo Tomei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Deportivo Metropolitano's Augusto Salerno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfonso Baresi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Frank Tabacchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 minutes, Davide Lepre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Metropolitano and the Borsano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Davide Lepre kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Borsano's Alfonso Baresi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Borsano from getting a goal against them. Frank Tabacchi struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Alfredo Mei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borsano. Alfredo Mei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Mandelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Frank Tabacchi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Mei having to interfere. Alfredo Mei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiano Mandelli in the 43rd minute of the match. After 47 played minutes Borsano got a freekick which was hit by Frank Tabacchi. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabiano Mandelli made a kick off. Alfonso Baresi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonello Mazzola in the 54th minute of the match. A collision led to Deportivo Metropolitano getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Arturo Colombo hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Borsano's Eraldo Tomei got a free kick in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Borsano's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Salerno came free, but Alfonso Baresi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Davide Domenghini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the match, Deportivo Metropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano Mandelli came free, but Alfredo Mei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Augusto Salerno notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Borsano's Alfonso Baresi. Alfonso Baresi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Davide Lepre was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. The supporters of Borsano booed when Deportivo Metropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Lepre didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Aldo Alati was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borsano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Metropolitano the free kick. Borsano:s Alfonso Baresi showed great skill when he stopped Dennis Graziano:s penalty. Alfonso Baresi came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Metropolitano's Dennis Graziano. But to his dismay, Dennis Graziano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Deportivo Metropolitano's Antonello Mazzola got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Augusto Salerno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Alfonso Baresi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Eraldo Tomei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Many of Borsano's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Borsano may have spent more time on the ball, but Deportivo Metropolitano were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
