In a very dangerous position, a player in Verzago FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! Emilio Di Febo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Di Nucci in the 13th minute of play. After 16 played minutes, Verzago FC's Flavio Muciaccia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emilio Di Febo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Verzago FC reached it. Alvaro Di Nucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fulvio Schirone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Anastasi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Scarano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Emilio Di Febo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Armando Scarano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrizio Del Vecchio hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Alvaro Di Nucci spun around in front of the goal 31 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Cappuccini AFC's goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Alvaro Di Nucci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verzago FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Di Nucci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cappuccini AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Verzago FC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Armando Scarano made the kick off in the second half. Emilio Di Febo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Scarano's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the game, Francesco Iovine cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Fulvio Schirone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 62 minutes into the match, Armando Scarano notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Cappuccini AFC's Emilio Di Febo. Emilio Di Febo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Cappuccini AFC's zone, Alvaro Di Nucci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilio Di Febo came out of the goal and Alvaro Di Nucci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arturo Palumbo during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th minute, one of Cappuccini AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cappuccini AFC. The Verzago FC fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Verzago FC's Armando Scarano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Emilio Di Febo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Scarano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alberigo Di Natale fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verzago FC's protests and gave Alberigo Di Natale a yellow card for diving instead. After 83 played minutes Verzago FC got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Di Natale. Alvaro Di Nucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Cappuccini AFC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Fabrizio Del Vecchio hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Alvaro Di Nucci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Cappuccini AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Verzago FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
