The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francesco Di Fabio to strike the kick off in the second half. Marco Simone's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Costache was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio De Tommasi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcel Costache struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Aurelio De Tommasi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marco Simone. Aurelio De Tommasi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Barducci, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Marco Simone fully deserved thier win.
