A collision led to Variney FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Demetrio Festa hit a great ball. When Variney FC's Alexander Ciccarelli in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sorgente's goalie prevented a goal. In the 35th match minute, Sorgente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camillo Ragazzoni to maneuver through the defense. If Anthony Lupi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ettore Scoca was the one to do the kick off. Alexander Ciccarelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugenio De Palma didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ettore Scoca went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When Ettore Scoca came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Sorgente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ettore Scoca couldn't finish the play. Andrea Amadei struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Cosimo Rallo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Variney FC. In the 67th minute, Camillo Ragazzoni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sorgente's goalkeeper Cosimo Rallo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cosimo Rallo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Lupi in the 88th minute of play. Variney FC's Anthony Lupi got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Fabrizio Santacroce came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Sorgente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabrizio Santacroce couldn't finish the play. Variney FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
