Bernardo Di Gennaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Amedeo Polimeno kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Attilio Crosta. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Attilio Crosta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Polimeno in the 25th minute of the match. Arturo Falcioni who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Attilio Crosta when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 28 minutes, Amedeo Polimeno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salice Cálabro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amedeo Polimeno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arturo Falcioni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Attilio Crosta made a huge save. After 32 minutes of play, Pieve Ligure FC's Anselmo Marchetti made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Di Gennaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Salice Cálabro booed when Pieve Ligure FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Comunardo Di Maio didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Arturo Falcioni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amedeo Polimeno made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Amedeo Polimeno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salice Cálabro's supporters rose to their feet, but Amedeo Polimeno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Attilio Crosta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 minutes of play, Salice Cálabro's Arturo Falcioni made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Attilio Crosta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Attilio Crosta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Falcioni in the 65th minute of play. When Anselmo Marchetti came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Pieve Ligure FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Marchetti couldn't finish the play. Bernardo Di Gennaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Marchetti in the 75th minute. When Salice Cálabro's Amedeo Polimeno in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bernardo Di Gennaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Teti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salice Cálabro's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
