After 29 minutes of play, Potenza Sport Club's Augusto Franco made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florian Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Florian Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Facchetti in the 34th minute of play. Federico Balboni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmondo Quattrocchi in the 36th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmondo Quattrocchi in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Federico Balboni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th minute, Potenza Sport Club's Bernardo Moniz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Florian Costa. Florian Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. A collision led to Gerre Borghi FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Alberto Lucchetta hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciro Lucantoni in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florian Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute, Edmondo Quattrocchi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Lucantoni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florian Costa having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Potenza Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Elia Bolognini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florian Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
