In the 10th minute, Alex Gentile ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Achille Pilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Filtro Football Club's zone, Alex Gentile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Achille Pilla came out of the goal and Alex Gentile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Anthony Palleschi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Anthony Palleschi made a precise shot to the right of Ciccio Albertosi. Salispurgo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 26th minute of the game, Edmondo Battisti landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Carter Guerrini hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Alex Gentile managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salispurgo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Gentile was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Alex Gentile got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Alex Gentile made the kick off in the second half. Fabiano Raimondi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ciccio Albertosi firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fabiano Raimondi scored 2-2 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ciccio Albertosi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Achille Pilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Gentile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Achille Pilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 77th minute Alex Gentile shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Achille Pilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Salispurgo getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Francesco Di Mattia hit a great ball. When Alex Gentile came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Salispurgo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Gentile couldn't finish the play. Alex Gentile's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Achille Pilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Carter Guerrini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salispurgo's supporters rose to their feet, but Carter Guerrini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achille Pilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
