Sussisa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Caterina FC the free kick. A collision led to Sussisa getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. When Achille Valletta fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Caterina FC's protests and gave Achille Valletta a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 15 minutes, Elia Del Nero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sussisa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elia Del Nero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute, Elia Di Cristofaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernesto Righi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 22 minutes, Emilio Ranieri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Armando Di Blasio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elia Del Nero in the 23rd minute of play. Elia Del Nero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Davide Bonsignore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Di Blasio having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Ranieri in the 35th minute of play forced Santa Caterina FC's goalkeeper Armando Di Blasio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elia Del Nero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Di Blasio having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Aldo Fanelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

53 minutes into the match, Santa Caterina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elia Del Nero came free, but Armando Di Blasio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elia Del Nero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Di Blasio having to make a save. Elia Del Nero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Armando Di Blasio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elia Del Nero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Di Blasio having to interfere. Armin Guerini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Elia Di Cristofaro made a precise shot to the right of Ernesto Righi. Sussisa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Elia Del Nero took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armando Di Blasio. Armando Di Blasio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 82nd minute, Elia Di Cristofaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Caterina FC's zone, Emilio Ranieri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Di Blasio came out of the goal and Emilio Ranieri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elia Del Nero in the 93rd minute of play forced Santa Caterina FC's goalkeeper Armando Di Blasio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
